More than ever, in this period of economic uncertainty and low infrastructure investment, itis important to acknowledge the essential contribution of roads to the socio-economicwelfare of our society and to ensure that sufficient resources are dedicated to theimprovement and them aintenance of the current road infrastructure.While road owners have the responsibility of defining, proposing and implementing actionplans for road infrastructure maintenance, the road industry is developing sustainablesolutions for the full benefit of road users and, more broadly speaking, for the communityas a whole.Academics support such a drive, using their specific scientific skills.The Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance (AEMA, ARRA,ISSA),the IBEF and theFP2 Inc. have decided to join their efforts and means to gather stakeholders and experts ina forum aimed at disseminating the best practices worldwide and promoting their specificknowledge.This is how and why the Pavement Preservation and Recycling (World) Summit has beendesigned and organized, with the support its sponsors and the partnership of specializedmedia.We would like to express our gratitude to the World Road Association and its SecretaryGeneral for their decisive input in the outstanding program that is proposed to you.We were more than happy to welcome all delegates and to share with them the success ofthe PPRS Paris 2015.
