摘要

Study ontheinfluence ofenvironmental parameters ontheacoustic field in shallow water is very important forresearchersand educators becauseofthe complex nature of shallow-water environment.Themismatchof environment can cause low performanceof sonar detection, especially for boundaries and variations of sound speed profile in water column. Therefore, it is necessary tomasterthe characteristics of environmental parameters, which have influenced onacousticpropagation in shallow water.
The objectives of thisthesisare to analyze theinfluenceofenvironmentalparameters on acousticpropagation in a shallow-water environment. This is achieved by calculationof transmission lossunder different environmental parameters. In this thesis, the normal mode theoryis carried out for calculation of transmission loss. And it is conducted in the range independent environment.Transmission loss in shallow water depends upon many environmental parameterssuch as sea surface, water medium, and sea bottom.Simulations under three types of sound channels are obtained through a Kraken program. And analysis is presented according to the simulation results.
Theresults indicated thattransmission loss in shallow-water environmentdepends on the source andreceiver depths, sea surface, sound speed profile (SSP) in water, sound speedof bottom, densities of water andbottom, propagation range and frequency. It is necessary to mention thatlower attenuationwas foundin a channel with positive gradient of sound speed profilewhereaslargetransmissionlossoccurred inanegative gradient channel. Moreover, for efficient analysis process of acoustic propagation in shallow water, Graphical User Interface (GUI) is also developed in this thesis. It is user-friendly, easily accessible and less time consumable. The performance of GUI is perfect and can present accurate results.
