摘要

This current study aimed to investigate the factors related to recantation in child sexual abuse. The participants in this study included approximately 832 children with different ethnicities. Their ages ranged from 1 year old through 18 years old (M=8.74, SD=3.866). Archival forensic interview files from 2011 to 2014 at the Edmondson-Telford Center were reviewed in order to establish characteristics of the victims and perpetrators in these cases. Factors related to child sexual abuse, disclosure of child sexual abuse, and recantation of child sexual abuse were assessed using the Forensic Interview Chart Review Protocol (FICRP). Findings indicated that children of a younger age were more likely to recant than older children; there was no significant difference in recantation rates across ethnicities. In addition, when the perpetrator was a primary relative, recantation was more likely. Finally, males victims were more likely to recant than females.
