The knowledge management portfolio includes knowledge sharing as a means to connect knowledge to knowledge and knowledge to people to support decision making, problem-solving, viewpoint resolution, conflict negotiation, education and innovation. A knowledge sharing activity comprises two elements: (i) the content of the knowledge being shared and (ii) the context within which the knowledge is being shared. The knowledge sharing literature predominately focuses on the knowledge content perspective and its delivery, however we believe that the context in which knowledge is sought and shared amongst peers is of significant importance in establishing the relevance and applicability of the knowledge content.; While context has been investigated in many fields, its utility and representation in knowledge sharing has not been considered. Proposed here is a model by which context in knowledge sharing can be encoded, operated upon, and used in determining the potential for knowledge sharing between knowledge actors of a semantic web community.; This research pursues context-aware knowledge sharing using an ontology-driven peer-to-peer (P2P) network. Our P2P knowledge sharing framework features: (i) a domain ontology that is used to both semantically model each peer via a vis the peer profile and to index the peer's knowledge repository; (ii) a weighted, ontological graph-based approach to establish affinity between peers and their contexts to determine the appropriate knowledge content to be shared; and (iii) a task-feature relevance matrix to model the domain characteristics' degree of influence on contextual affinity determination.
