摘要

I had been looking for the chance to work on a project that could combine some things in my life which give me great pleasure. This thesis provided that opportunity. Dance has given me great enjoyment. I have always enjoyed watching, doing, or choreographing dance, and it is an essential part of who I am. Chinese folktales also inspired me. Their richness and humanity had a great effect on me, and they have always left me in awe while stimulating my imagination. To join both interests, I combined dance and storytelling in developing this project. I also wanted to challenge myself with a larger-scale choreography project using both eastern and western techniques. Also, I wanted to learn more about the process of putting on a production doing more than just choreography. Moreover, it was important for me to learn to be more decisive and in control of a complex undertaking.
