摘要

The migration of an existing application from an old technique to a newly introduced technique must be carefully considered. Automation of boring, repetitive tools can reduce risks and save resources, thereby making migration feasible.; Using XHTML with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), introduced by W3C to layout Web components, one can reduce the complexity of Web pages while increasing the Web application's maintainability as well as the Web component's reusability.; In this thesis, I propose an approach to recognize TABLE structures in HTML pages and transform these TABLE structures to modern DIV structures with an associated CSS, using source code transformation techniques including clone detection and removal. The whole transformation process requires less effort, involves less risk and delivers a reasonable output that allows a human to easily tune up the auto-generated CSS to match the original look of the Web pages.
