This thesis is a para-rational and archetypical analysis of Carl Jung's autobiography, Memories, Dreams, Reflections, analyses his life story from the perspectives of the Narcissus, Dionysus, Orpheus, and Christ Myths, attempting to show how these myths can illuminate the mythological themes found throughout Jung's autobiography. This thesis also points out the ways in which Jung's life story follows the classic pattern of the heroic quest as outlined by Joseph Campbell: The Call, The Other, The Journey, Helpers and Guides, The Treasure, and Transformation.;Jung's various para-rational experiences are examined as they relate to his mythical journey from a state of relative ignorance to a state of mature understanding, as expressed by the creation of his comprehensive and influential system of analytical psychology.
