摘要

The network topology in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETS) changes frequently. Hence, one of the major challenges in MANET technology is the development of routing algorithms, which are robust and adaptable to frequently changing topologies. The current project presents a performance assessment and comparison between two on-demand routing protocols: the Ad-Hoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol and the Ad-Hoc on Demand Multipath Distance Vector (AOMDV) protocol. The performance comparisons are based on monitoring and analysis of four network parameters: Throughput, Network Overhead, Packet Delivery Function, and End-to-End Delay. Simulation results show that the throughput of AOMDV has increased by 27 percent, the network overhead is decreased by 20 percent and the packet delivery function increases by 11 percent using AOMDV routing protocol as compared to AODV routing protocol.
