摘要

This study was aimed at unraveling and understanding better the unique experience of a student learning social work theory and practice through a careful self-analysis. What came out of this research project was an intense process of unveiling the subjective truth of a journey into personal growth and change, a process that paralleled, and that perhaps heavily influenced the process of learning. With a qualitative, constructivist lens, the researcher sought to understand her own internal experience and give voice to a story that is largely left untold. Through auto ethnography, she captures her truth in her journey and found meaning in her own experience. It is the hope that this experience will be heard, listened to, read, and considered when thinking about the constructs of social work education, policy, and practice and that further research will be done to garnish even a richer and more meaningful understanding of the student experience.
