摘要

The aim of this work is to know the impact of the actual economical and social development process, known as globalisation, is producing in the young people. To know habits and behaviour patterns of young people from different regions of the world. Also to find characteristics that influence youth that contribute to discover resemblance's in opinion and knowledge.;This work involves young people from Europe (Germany, Great-Britain, Spain, Portugal), from Asia (China, Macao) and from Africa (Mozambique, Kenya). The purpose was to point out values and expectations shared by youth. This study intends to anticipate the probably converging or diverging behaviour and ideas that establish particular interpretations about globalisation.;A globalisation scale measure is presented and tested. This scale intends to enhance feelings related to the globalisation process and to identify the young people segments according to different interpretations, concerns, hopes, and fears that are associated to this process. To establish the dimensions of each group in all countries, the number of supporters and opponents to the this actual development process.;Youth behaviour is conditioned by economic conditions, development level and cultural values, so there are resemblance's in habits and behaviour of young people of the same geographic region, distinguishing from others by continent: Europeans, Asians and Africans. However the preferences and above all the expectations to the future are shared by youth no matter their country of origin. The differences in choices for different gender concerning to consumption stand important sometimes, but they are decreasing in all countries and are almost irrelevant concerning to some values or ambitions.;Stands out of this work the fact that a great number of young people face future with optimism. They hope Global Economic and Social Development of the world will be reached, they are conscious of the dangers that the global process can aggravate social conditions and destroy the environment. Consequences like Consumerism or Economic and Cultural Homogenisation are also concerning most of young people. They believe that the process will bring a greater free circulation of people and goods and will have effects on the companies organisation.;Become salient the fact that young people with the worst economic conditions present the most pessimistic opinion about the future of Humanity.;In conclusion, we may find different groups of young people with different values sustained in culture, gender and age differences, however they are vanishing and almost disappearing. The difference in behavior and objectives of life are fading also with different patterns between different groups. We can look at youth as a group of individuals that present homogeneous patterns, beyond their various groups they share options, behaviors and preferences.;Key Words: Young People; Globalization; Consumer Behavior; Materialistic Values; Ambitions
