摘要

Black metal is one of the most extreme forms of heavy metal music. It has a distinctive sound that differentiates it from other forms of extreme metal from which it evolved. Black metal displays a propensity for the grotesque while it adheres to a purity of expression. It tends to romanticize Scandinavia's pagan past and uses elements of Scandinavian mythology and folklore in its song lyrics. Satanism is a prominent aspect of black metal ideology, although whether it is a real belief for some or a theatrical illusion is open to question. Location has obviously been an important aspect in the development of true Norwegian black metal which tends to take Norwegian characteristics, such as love of nature and feelings of nationalism, to extremes. Norway's dedication to peace, equality, and "goodness" has been inverted by black metal ideology. Because black metal tends to both reflect and distort Norwegianness, it could be thought of as the "good" Norwegian's evil twin.
