This Master's Degree Project presents the results of a stated preference survey that measures a sample population's preference regarding a number of design features in Light Rail Transit stations.;The specified design features that were tested in this study were escalators, ramps, enclosed waiting areas, signage, and platform types. In order to conduct the survey in a realistic contextual environment, virtual reality technology was applied to create interactive and real-time simulations of different LRT stations. The discrete choice method was used to evaluate the importance of each tested feature in influencing a rider's preference. The survey results were analyzed using a logit model and the utility function was used to explain the results.;This study found out that signage had significant positive influences on a rider's attitudes toward a LRT station, escalators had marginal positive effects, and ramps had marginal negative effects.
