摘要

This study focused on Situational Leadership and the matching concept in law enforcement and private security with a sample of 269 employees and 71 supervisors, to determine if the leader's styles matched with their follower's readiness levels.;Various statistical techniques were used to test the seven hypotheses. The study produced 55 matches and 180 mismatches at the group level of analysis. These findings are similar to other studies regarding the number of matches/mismatches and the intercorrelations for the independent and dependent variables but weren't statistically significant.;The researcher recommends further research be done with the same organizations using different samples/ranks of leaders and followers so individual level analyses may be conducted. Based on this study, the validity of SLT cannot be established.
