An integration process of the Geographical Information System field with the Engineering System Analysis field, was successfully achieved and tested in the present thesis work. As a result the practical and flexible analytical tool called GISGDAS was implemented, based on the Geographical Information System existing at the City of Denton to enhance the Generalized Distribution Analysis System developed by the Energy System Research Center of The University of Texas at Arlington.; The computer aided design based on a well-structured data base together with a powerful engineering analysis software, offers fast and accurate results for large and complex electrical systems, hence supporting the planning and operations areas.; The access to all the necessary data has been achieved through a user friendly environment, changing the traditional access approach and avoiding the time-consuming task of manual creation of the input file necessary for engineering analysis.
