Metallic glasses were produced by the hot melt cold block method and characterized by the complementary techniques of X-ray diffraction, Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) and the Magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE).;Amorphous samples were produced which were approximately 500 microns thick, three millimeters wide and a centimeter long. Detailed X-ray diffraction patterns verified that the samples are amorphous and AES spectra yielded the exact relative concentrations of the constituent elements of the samples. MOKE analysis provided hysterisis curve data for the determination of the magnetic properties of the compounds analyzed.
