Newspapers and newscast inundate the public with a deluge of data and assertions that seem to indicate that there are massive revolutionary changes occurring within the nation's business community and its environment. This research project considered the question of whether the business schools offering MBA education programs are alert and aware of these alleged changes in the business community. Additionally, what changes, if any, have they planned responding to these changing conditions. Survey questionnaires were provided to a sample of business schools with statements regarding whether they were aware of the perceived changing conditions and what strategic plans they had in place for altering their MBA programs in order to meet the changing and challenging conditions. The results of the survey reflect that most of those surveyed acknowledged that changes are indeed occurring. Most stated that they had some sort of strategic plan for meeting those changes. At least a third implied that they were not too unhappy, or at least were comfortable, with their current MBA program.;The research addresses some of the economic conditions that will invariably impact upon the number of students attending business schools in the future. The research also provides recommendations for additional research in this rapidly changing milieu. It is an area that will prove of interest to those in both the business community and the academic community. The results of the study reveal that business leaders and academicians must work together in a symbiotic partnership if the two separate entities are to survive the turmoil of the coming decade.
