Information security in computerized offices is a new field of research and it contains problems of very different origin. The present work covers three different topics.; First the security requirements of a computerized office is analyzed. It is assumed that the office work is performed at workstations with local computing and storage capacity. The analysis results in a model for implementation of computerized offices with good information security.; Secondly, two basic security features are discussed. These features comprise the possibility to obtain electronic originals and user identification. To be able to introduce an electronic original, that can play the same role as a common paper original, a "model" of an original is created. After that, ways of implementation are discussed. In any type of computer system identification of users in the basis for security. The characteristic properties of identification are described. After that, a survey of existing identification techniques suitable for use in a computerized office is made.; Thirdly, to achieve information security, cryptographic techniques are used in many cases. Pseudo random sequences are basic components in many cryptographic methods. A new way of generating pseudo random sequences with good properties by combination of several short pseudo random sequences is presented.
