The temperature variation of the electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum of Mn2+ impurity in the natural crystal brucite, Mg(OH) 2, was studied in the temperature range 77°K--295°K at K-band frequencies. The spectrum was fitted to the spin-Hamiltonian Hs =b&sqbl0;g∥Hz Sz+g⊥&parl0;HxSx +HySy&parr0;&sqbr0; +13 b2oO2 o+160b4 oO4 o+160b4 3O4 3 +ASz Iz+B&parl0;SxIx +SyIy&parr0; At room temperature (295°K) the following values were obtained for the parameters:;The variation with temperature of the parameters followed similar trends as those observed by Quick9 for the same impurity in the isomorphic crystal, Ca(OH)2. Discrepancies between the parameters at X-band, as found by Pieczonka et al.17, and at K-band were found.; g∥ =2.0010+/-0.0005 g⊥=2.0010+/- 0.0005 A =-90.74+/-0.25G B =-89.69+/-0.25G b2o= -5.85+/-0.50G b4 o=-4.31+/-0.50G b43=0+/-15 0G .
