摘要

The purpose of this cross-sectional, quantitative study was to examine the end-user experience using sensors to monitor electronic health records. Additionally, the study examined healthcare entities' interoperability and resistance to change in accessing and utilizing patients' electronic health records. The study was intended to analyze the alternative methods to maintain patients' routine medical records and measure usability of EHR applications of the healthcare system; however, it provides an overview of the health information system used by the healthcare system. Data were collected through surveys of end users and physicians to determine the areas of improvement in the transaction of electronic health records to increase patients' well-being and intensify physicians' awareness of their patients' health conditions in cases of emergency. Using the technique of online surveys distributed to randomly selected users, this researcher attempted to gather raw data, retrieve the data from the database, and calculate the findings through probability and statistical sampling. The study identified whether end users' health and health records are benefitted through this technology, and report whether improved interoperability in electronic health records is needed among healthcare entities that currently have systems that may or may not be compatible with one another.
