There are more than 40 pieces of the elegant poetry in Book of Songs. The elegant body poetry is a kind of poetic style that expresses the cheerful emotion through praise. It includes three kinds of subject matters. The first is Zengda poem which appears in the official interview between the monarch and ministers. The second is the Jiamian poem. It appears in the official time when the king sent the minister to perform tasks and the minister reported to the king after the completion of the task. The third is the anthem. It ap⁃pears in the party which the monarch entertained his relatives and friends, and sometimes it appears in the marriage ceremony. There are five kinds of rhetorical devices in the elegant poetry, which make the elegant poem and the other five kinds of poetry genres form a sharp difference. The five methods of rhetoric are simile, hyperbole, combining with sketching and rendering, blending between descri⁃bing and sighing, fusion of awarding sighing with the blessing.
