This paper surveyed the image analysis based plant leaf recognition technologies in recent years. Firstly, it proposed the significance of the plant leaf recognition technology based on the image analysis and its present research status. Then introduced the main steps of the plant leaf recognition technology, esp. To discuss three methods based on relational structure matching recognition, based on statistical recognition and based on machine learning recognition. Introduced several basic theories and mainly formulas in detail.
