The biggest ever global free trade deal—the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)—came into force on January 1 after 11 signatory states had completed the ratification procedures.They included six of the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)and all five non-ASEAN participants.The RCEP will take effect 60 days after ratification by at least six ASEAN countries and at least three non-ASEAN nations,according to the agreement.
