Address at the Opening Ceremony of the TWAS 12^th General Conference ＆ 23^rd General Meeting by Chinese President HU Jintao in Tianjin on Sept. 18, 2012
The 14^th General Meeting of TWAS was held in Beijing nine years ago. Today, we are celebrating the 23^rd General Meeting of TWAS here in Tianjin, which is indeed a grand gathering of the international scientific community. First of all, on behalf of the Chinese people and government, I would like to extend our hearty congratulations on the convening of this meeting and our warm welcome to all TWAS Fellows, scientists and delegates from around the world.
