In the context of current construction of “beautiful vilages” and development of “urbanization”, this article introduces the general situation of traditional vilages and towns in Yunnan Province and their development visions. Based on an understanding of the protection of values and characteristics of traditional vilages and towns, a specific analytical reading is made in this article with consideration on the protection and renovation plans and designs for several historical and cultural vilages and towns, historical streets, and traditional vilages. It is expected that the theoretical thinking applied in the protection plans for traditional vilages and towns, including the inheritance and summarization of values and characteristics of various traditional vilages and towns, and historical streets; and the corresponding utilization measures adopted etc., can be presented to the readers, so as to show more methods of the protection and activated utilization of traditional vilages and towns.%针对当前的“美丽乡村”建设与“城镇化”发展背景，在简要论述云南传统村镇概况及发展愿景，对传统村镇价值和特色保护认识的基础上，论文结合几个历史文化村镇和传统村落的保护更新规划设计，进行具体的分析解读，以期将传统村镇保护规划中应用的理论思考，包括如何对不同传统村镇、历史街区的价值和特色进行的传承总结，所采用的针对性保护利用措施等呈现给读者，以表达出对传统村镇保护与活化利用的多种方式。
