The perspective of “urban community” studying on such issue is one of the most frequently applied methods by academia. The existence of middle class has long been perceived as the hope of urban regeneration, which provides a steadfast cohesive force to the process. However, the middle class group in both Chinese and Western communities has grown a tendency of anxiety to which scholars are increasingly paying heed. It is argued that, in the last part of this article where case studies related to Chinese reality wil be applied to rethink the role and function of such social stratum, the middle class who is dedicated to creating a lively interpersonal network of communities exactly renders a path for achievement of “Better City, Better Life” manifesto.
