In recent years, the drought disasters have frequented in pastoral areas of Xinjiang with affected range and economic losses widespread, causing the deterioration of ecological environment and seriously restricted sustainable development. This study analyzed the characteristics and causes of drought disasters in the pastoral areas of Xinjiang. Based on the results, it is recommended that strengthen infrastructure construction, non-structural system and enhance scientific research for better drought mitigation.%近年来，新疆牧区干旱灾害频发，灾害影响范围和损失不断扩大，加剧了牧区生态环境的恶化，严重制约牧区经济的可持续发展。针对新疆牧区实际情况，分析了干旱灾害的特点及其成因，提出从逐步完成牧区抗旱减灾基础工程体系、完善牧区抗旱非工程体系、加强牧区抗旱减灾科学研究等工作建议，全面提高新疆牧区抗旱减灾能力与水平。
