Retinitis pigmentosa (RP)is a group of inherited retinal disorders characterized by the progressive photoreceptor and pigment epithelial cells dysfunction. It is the common cause of blindness in the worldwide and effective treatments are little until now.The author reviewed the clinical and experimental researches of retinitis pigmentosa with the treatment of Chinese medicine in recent 5 years from several aspects.
