In retrospect of the last 10-year history of professional education in preventive medicine and teaching re-sults of Tibetan university, it can be summarized that great progress and significant improvement have been made in as-pects such as the faculty, the major, personnel training and teaching quality. This has played a due role of higher edu-cation in cultivating a batch of qualified personnel in preventive medicine for healthcare undertaking in Tibet Au-tonomous Region as well as improving health of local people. At the same time, public health education is confronted with new challenges and opportunities with the rapid development of public health undertaking in Tibet. Basic thoughts and main targets for future development of public health undertaking are therefore put forward to better adapt to the new situation of economic and social development and cultivate high-quality talents in public health in Tibet.%回顾10年来西藏大学预防医学专业教育的历史轨迹和取得的进步，总结出主要在师资队伍建设、专业建设、人才培养和教学质量等方面取得了长足的进步和显著的提高。为西藏自治区医疗卫生事业单位输送了一批合格的预防医学应用型人才，为提高当地人群的健康水平发挥了高校教育应有的作用。同时，随着西藏公共卫生事业的迅速发展，公共卫生教育又面临着新的挑战与机遇。为了适应西藏经济社会的发展形势，培养合格、有用的公共卫生人才，提出了西藏公共卫生教育未来发展的基本思路和主要目标。
