DPP - Ⅳ inhibitors are a new class of agents with multiple anti -hyperglycemic action by inducing insulin biosynthesis and secretion, inhibiting β -cell apoptosis, inhibiting glucagon secretion, reducing food intake, and which could reverse the deteriorating conditions while in control of blood sugar. Vildagliptin is a representative of dipeptidyl peptidase inhibitors. In clinical studies, it has shown good anti-diabetic effects and tolerability either alone or in combination with other agents.
