The 20-liter-class pilot unit for manufacture of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) through urea alcoholysis jointly designed by PetroChina Ningxia Branch Company and CAS Shanxi Coal Chemisrty Research Institute had been successfully commissioned in January 2004. This technology with fully independent intellectual property rights has applied for 4 national patents. The two cooperative partners will on the basis of test data design in this year a one-thousand-ton class DMC demonstration unit.
