The reform and opening up started in the 1980s drove the standardization undertaking in China began to seek conformity with the international community.Especially after China became a member of WTO in December 2001,the government and enterprises implemented Code of Good Practice for Standardization according to the rules of WTO TBT and WTO SPS.The standardization undertaking has gained new progress.Governments at all levels have attached great importance to the standardization work,not only providing support in policies,but also offering financial and human resources support.Only in China's 10th “Five-Year Plan” started in 2001 and 11th “Five-year Plan” started in 2006 for its economic and social development,the governments at all levels in China had input billions in the standardization work to support the development of various standards,the implementation of standardization pilot projects and the organization of various standardization demonstration areas.
