The diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancers is still a difficult subject in the medical profession at present. High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a novel non-invasive technology of cancer treatment. It is capable of producing coagulation necrosis at the target tissue by thermal effects without damaging the surrounding normal tissue. Now HIFU has been used for clinical treatments of pancreatic cancer and is considered as a safe and feasible technique.
