Epithelial - mesenchymal transition ( EMT ) plays an important role in the process of kidney fihrosis. Recent studies indicate that endothelial cells and glomerular podocytes may also undergo transition, leading to glomerular sclerosis and proteinuria. Several intracellular signal transduction pathways involve in regulating EMT, and transforming growth factor beta ( TGF - β) /Smad signaling pathway plays a control role. Blocking up TGF - p/Smad signaling pathways or use of endogenous antifibrotic protein can inhibit EMT and reduce renal fibrosis.%肾小管上皮间充质转分化(EMT)在肾脏纤维化进程中发挥着重要作用.
