"Liver controlling dispersion",is an essential concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine.There are many controversial issues regards to its origin.The word " discharging"was first found in Inner Canon of Huangdi,and it can be seen in Shuo Wen Jie Zi.In the Jin and Yuan dynasties,the theory of "xiang huo" had great impact on the inner meaning of this theory.Moreover,in Ming dynasties,many other scholars had dedicated to enrich the content of it.After new China was founded,"Liver controlling dispersion" was described as one of the functions of the liver Zang and was written in the textbook.Currently,in western medicine,researchers have provided sufficient explanations on this theory from five aspects.Hippocampal area have close relationship with the control of the mood and was confirmed to be the target of the Soothing the Liver method.And the function of the "Liver controlling dispersion" may be the core of regulating the braingut petide.Moreover,the "Liver controlling dispersion" can regulate the reproduction by the way of effecting the endocrine system.%一直以来,中医学术界在对待“肝主疏泄”的源流问题上意见纷纭.追溯其源流,“疏泄”一词最早见于《黄帝内经》(以下简称《内经》),在《说文解字》中也能找到肝主疏泄的影子.其后经历金元时期“相火论”的影响,明清时期医家对该理论内涵的不断外延补充,新中国时期肝主疏泄最终被确立为肝的生理功能之一并被写入教材.现代西医研究为肝主疏泄的5个主要内涵提供了合理性解释,海马区与情绪控制密切相关也被证实为疏肝解郁药的主要靶区.此外,肝主疏泄的功能可能是调节脑肠肽的核心,而肝主疏泄可以通过影响人体内分泌系统调节人体生殖.
