“The kidney storing essence” is an important part of the visceral manifestation theory of TCM. This article mainly expounds its manifestation token information, its physiological effects on dominating growth, development and reproduction, producing marrow to dominate bones and connect the brain and meeting an emergency, modulating the balance between the body and the outside environment, its biological basis of the neuro-endocrino-immune network(NEI), the central dogma, DNA and stem cell and the biological mechanism of treating the correlative diseases based on the kidney at cell and molecule level.
