In recent years, many studies have shown that some microRNAs can weaken the rewards of drug effect and suppress the formation of cocaine addiction. On the other hand, some microRNAs, such as ADICD microR-Nas, contribute to cocaine addiction. Therefore, regulating the transcriptional levels of these microRNAs and the expression of their targeting genes may provide a new approach for the treatment of cocaine addiction. This article reviews the structure and function of microRNAs involved in cocaine addiction and the relationship between microRNAs and cocaine addiction.
