Nowadays China is facing the problem of industrial heritage conservation and sustainable development,while relevant practices in China are mainly transformations of industrial heritage sites to creative clusters.Concerning this,the rich experience of Germany merits attention,and Leipziger Baumwollspinerei is the very case that achieves a lot with such a transformation.This paper summarizes the history and adaptive re-use of the site,and comes to the conclusion that this project has four significant strategies in aspects of interpretation,exhibition,interaction and dissemination.It is pointed out that the Spinnerei project does well in balancing industrial heritage conservation and its development as well as coordinating the cooperation of different stakeholders.On the other hand,the paper also shows the dilemma the project faces and the problems in its operation.It is claimed that the creative cluster path for industrial heritage sites is essentially a problem of economic geography instead of that of cultural geography:it aims to promote conservation by development,instead of development based on conservation.Thus getting an equal identity of the cultural and economic significance of industrial heritage is the key to keep the balance between its conservation and development.To achieve a successful adaptive re-use with this path,key elements include the suitability of the industrial heritage space for creative industries,the aggregation of creative people around the heritage site,a bottom-up initiative and proper management of the heritage project.%当前中国正面临工业遗产保护与可持续发展问题,并开始将工业遗产地转型为创意产业集聚区作为实践的重点.在这一方面,工业大国德国的丰富经验值得关注,而菜比锡棉纺厂正是这一实践路径的杰出案例.归纳了该项目的历史沿革和当前适应性再利用情况,总结出该项目在解说、展示、互动、宣传等层面的4项重要策略,发现其平衡保护与发展、统筹不同利益相关者协同合作的长处,也指出其面临的困境和工作中尚且存在的不足之处.本文指出,创意产业集聚区路径实际是经济地理学问题而非文化地理学问题,其本质是以发展带动保护的方法,而非基于保护的方法,因而在这种方法下取得工业遗产保护与发展的平衡,关键在于取得对遗产地文化重要性和经济重要性的同等认同.成功进行此类实践的要素包括遗产地本身空间对于创意产业的适宜性、遗产地周围有创意人员集聚、自下而上的动议以及管理方的合理策略等.
