Bloch's theorem in superconductivity plays a role to refute any theory of superconductivity which is based upon the existence of a persistent current in the ground state. However one finds that the ground on which the theorem is founded is not invulnerable, being too formal and too general.Especially in the present stage of the development of superconductivity it is worthwhile to enter a deeper scrutiny of the theorem.
