The new measurement of fractal dimension using the box-counting method has been proposed in this paper,When we measure the fractal dimension of a well log as purous medium by box countiny,it is found that using the conventional treatment couldn't get a reliable fractal dimension of those date.The upper enveloping curve method to measure the fractal dimension has been established.
