Studies have been made for the critical heat flux (CHF) during natural convective boiling on uniformly heated vertical tubes submerged in saturated liquids. By adopting a mixed flow model in tube, a generalized approximate formula was set up which was found to agree well with the CHF data of tubes and annular tubes submerged in water or other liquids undervarious pressure conditions.
