This paper briefly reviews Unilever’s historic efforts in the development of alternative methods to animal testing for local toxicity endpoints and advancing the approaches of safety assessment for cosmetic products, as well as its ongoing research and development of modern alternative methods for systemic toxicity endpoints, in partnership with its global collaborators across governments, academia and industry.%回顾了联合利华在局部毒性测试替代方法开发及化妆品安全评估等方面所取得的成果，同时介绍了联合利华与各国政府机构、学术界和工业界合作开发用于全身毒性评估的动物实验替代方法。
