The paper takes Chinese Citations Database and Chinese Journal Full Text Database as data source, and statistically analyses cited frequencies, years, authors and affiliations, funds and keyword frequencies of high-cited papers (cited frequency≥50) in five core journals on coal during 1994-2013 from the angle of document citation, so as to reveal research trend and hotspots of coal sci-ence.%以中国引文数据库和中国期刊全文数据库为统计源，从文献引证的角度对5种煤炭类核心期刊1994-2013年高被引（被引频次≥50）论文的被引频次、年度分布、作者和机构分布、基金项目及关键词频次进行统计分析，揭示煤炭科学的研究趋势和研究热点。
