Sediment load is very important for the design and operation of hydraulic structures which causesproblems in water supply and power generation. In this study, the amount of sediment load in Turkishrivers is calculated by using empirical formulas obtained from held data for 1990 water year and it iscompared with the sediment load data in 1984 water year. The analysis shows that the discharge and thetransported sediment load are larger in 1984 water year than that of in 1990 water year.
