To produce a new type health beverage with banana and coix seed as main material. [ Method ] Using orthogonal test, the optimum ratio between banana and coix seed was obtained. Soluble solid, pH, reducing sugar, metals content were determined. [Result] The best formula was coix seed: banana 3:1, citric acid 0. 2% , sugar 13% . The soluble solid was 11. 0% , pH3.13, reducing sugar 79. 2 mg/ml. The contents of metal elements of Ca, K, Mg, Zn, Cu were 5.444 0 mg/L, 4.711 0 mg/L, 0.146 5 mg/L, 0.019 2 mg/L, 0.001 8 mg/L, respectively.
