Taking the Dingjiafen landslide in Shuangbo Country, Yunnan as an example, the paper describes that evolution of slope fissures is due to influence of surface runoff and hanging slope during rainfall. These fissures provide main channel of surface water to the internal weak structure of slope, which greatly reduce the stability of slope.
