This article gives a detailed analysis of the effect that the fuzzy theory has been used inclassification, subject indexing query-retrieval and assesment of effect of information retreval. And then,the article illuminates several problems of the fuzzy theory applied to information retrieval.%本文分析了模糊理论对分类、主题标引、检索提问表达及检索效果评价的作用，并对该理论在信息检索应用系统中面临的问题进行了探讨。
