The method for the determination of trace elements in four kinds of methanol samples with different purity by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was presented in this paper. The method was validated by running the recovery test of trace elements in methanol for industrial use. The recoveries of the elements detected ranged from 90% to 110% with the RSDs of less than 6%.
