Objective To investigate the link between sleep duration and obesity in children. Methods A total of 1 145 chilciren aged 7 to 12 years were selected by stratified sampling. Height ana weight were measured. Body mass index (BMI) was calculated. The parents and children were sun-eyed with questionnaire. Result's The prevalence of obesity was 3.8% in all children. 2.0% in children with sleep duration ≥ 10 h , 5.0%. In children with 8 - 10 sleep duration, and 10.0%. In children with ≤ 8 h sleep duration. The differences were statistically significant (P < 0.001). Conclusions Short sleep duration is associated with obesity in children and adequate sleep duration among children is important in prevention of obesity.%目的 了解儿童睡眠时间与肥胖的关系.方法 采用分层随机整群抽样方法抽取1 145名7 ~ 12岁儿童,测量身高和体质量,计算体质指数(BMI).对受试儿童及家长进行睡眠时间、运动时间、家庭作业时间和看电视、玩游戏时间的问卷调查.结果 该组儿童的肥胖发生率为3.8%;睡眠时间≥ 10 h儿童的肥胖发生率为2.0%,8 ~ 10 h儿童发生率为5.0%,≤ 8 h儿童发生率为10.0%,差异有统计学意义(P < 0.001).结论 睡眠时间过短是导致肥胖的危险因素,保证充足的睡眠时间是预防肥胖的重要手段.
