The principle of virtual reality, the essential features and thekey technology of virtual reality are described briefly in this paper. The application of virtual reality technology in simulation of conductor galloping is analyzed in detail.%本文简单介绍了虚拟现实技术及其基本原理、虚拟现实系统组成和关键技术，着重就虚拟现实技术在输电导线舞动模拟中的应用进行了分析，并以此为例探讨了虚拟现实技术在工程模拟中的应用。
