With the aid of environmental models, transfer, fate, bioaccumulation and biomagnification of contaminants in a multi⁃compartment environment was simulated, which is not only a basis for evaluating ecological and health risks of per⁃sistent organic pollutants ( POPs) in food chain, but also an important approach to and means of studying environmental processes of the pollutants. It is of great significance to use bio⁃accumulation models in studying bioaccumulation and bio⁃magnification of POPs in food chain to the evaluation of ecological and health risks of the POPs. A review is presented with emphasis on various bioaccumulation models available at home and abroad to simulate POPs bioaccumulation and biomag⁃nification in the terrestrial food⁃chain, including principles, features, merits and shortcomings of the models and some case studies of their applications. Moreover, modifications of the models were recommended. Obviously the lack of basic envi⁃ronment parameters, shortage of experimental data, and plant species peculiarities are the major causes hindering develop⁃ment of this kind of models.%借助环境模型模拟污染物在多介质间的迁移、归趋行为和生物积累放大,既是生态和健康风险的评估基础,又是研究污染物环境过程的一种重要的方法和手段。
